Michael Schein is a poet, novelist, historian, attorney, teacher, dad & grandpa. Michael is founder and director of LiTFUSE Poets’ Workshop held annually in Tieton, WA (Mighty Tieton). Michael has served on the speakers' bureaus of Humanities Washington and the ACLU of Washington. Michael’s poetry has received honors, including three Pushcart nominations. Born & raised in Vermont, Michael wrote his first poem at the age of eight, and was inspired to keep at it by his high school creative writing teacher, Gladys LaFlamme Coburn. Michael attended Reed College, and lives in Portland.
